We spent this year´s summer in southern Africa.
Not the ideal time for everything we were up to, but we surely had a good time.
Our first stop was Tofo, World Capital of mantas and whalesharks.
The mantas had their week off, but the whaleshark was a nice substitute. And even without mantas the reefs are great diving with lots of fish and especially morays of all kinds. There´s also plenty of small things, nudibranches etc. - if you just hadn´t brought your fisheye for the big stuff ...
Mozambique itself is a destination worth all the way to go there. Beautiful people, great food - what else do you need?
Then we moved on to Cape Town, one of the most beautiful settings I´ve ever been to.
No question what we came for: BIG WHITE SHARKS! And we got them plenty.
Next day we went on a Blue/Makoshark tour with Morne Hardenberg of Shark Explorers. It took a long time chumming to attract some Makosharks. No Blues, but so there´s something left for next time.
